Manipur crisis : Public conventions, protest demonstrations continue

Raising a clarion call for unification of the indigenous communities to fight against the narco-terrorists who are creating havoc in the State, a public convention on the theme 'Ongoing Crisis' was held at Bishnunaha Pukhri Achouba Mapal community hall today.
Speaking at the convention organised by Bishnunaha Youth Federation Yairipok (BYFY), Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) member W Second alleged that 'the present unrest in Manipur is a result of the divisive policy of the Central Government' .
Therefore he urged all the indigenous communities to come together and fight against the narco-terrorists and illegal immigrants who are creating havoc in the State by carrying out ceaseless attacks on Meitei civilians.

He went to assert that COCOMI will stand firmly against all forces which may pose threat to the integrity of Manipur.
Expressing that the State in undergoing a major crisis due to the acts of narco-terrorism unleashed by drug cartels and illegal immigrants, he maintained that relentless efforts should be made by all with the ultimate goal to flush out all the narco-terrorists and illegal immigrants from the soil of Manipur for restoration of peace and sanity.
Various slogans were raised by forming a human chain across Thoubal district today urging the Government to tackle Kuki terrorists for the welfare of the State.
Human chain was formed stretching for around five kilometres from Waithou till Haokha along the National Highway; Thoubal Bazar and Thoubal Athopkam.
A sit-in protest was staged at Leishangthem Bazar organised by Leishangthem Apunba Meira Paibi Lup in association with the local clubs.
Meanwhile, many resolutions were taken in context with the current crisis in the State during a public meeting held at Thoubal Achouba Multipurpose Hall organised by Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL), an apex body of 30 local clubs and Meira Paibis of Thoubal.
Kakching
A rally was staged at Irengband, Hawairou and Mairenbam area in Kakching district organised by People Protection Force (PPF) against the atrocities of Kuki militants on civilians.
The demand for withdrawal of Assam Rifles from Manipur was reiterated during a protest demonstration held at Kakching Keithel, Kakching Lamkhai and Kakching Sumak Leikai.
