349 relief camps with 50,648 inmates in state: Dr S Ranjan

IPR & Health minister Dr S Ranjan Singh has said that there are a total of 349 relief camps with 50,648 displaced persons in the state affected by the crisis.
Speaking to the media at the auditorium of DIPR at Nityaipat Chuthek, on Saturday, Dr Ranjan informed that district and cluster nodal officers have been identified to take care and look after the relief centres opened in different districts.
Relief centres have also been opened specially for pregnant ladies and special cares taken up for lactating mothers, aged persons and children.
He then stated that 2376 trucks loaded with 35,000 metric tonnes of construction materials, fuels, essential commodities, etc., have been brought into the state so far since the violence broke out through the National Highway-37.The minister further informed that the government is trying to operationalise the Khongsang Railway Station within the next 10 days for convenient transportation of essential items.
Further, helicopter ser-vices from Moreh-Imphal, Imphal-Churachandpur and Imphal-Kangpokpi have al-ready been started, he con-veyed.
So far, a total of 990 fire-arms and 13,526 rounds of ammunition have been sur-rendered to the government.
On top of this, combing oper-ations have been launched in vulnerable areas.
During the search operations conducted by central and state forces, 53 arms, 74 ammunitions and 39 bombs have been recovered, said the minister.
He then stated that the road map of education for the crisis period has been chalked out by the government, the de-tails of which will be briefed by the education minister soon.
Regarding the banking sector, out of the 242 branch-es, 198 are made operational as of now, and the rest will be made functional at the earliest, he added.
Dr Ranjan also stated that a price control mechanism is put into force to check price rise in essential commodities.
He further updated about the current fuel and LPG stock and appealed to the public not to panic but to contribute towards restoring normalcy in the state.
