Imphal, July 10 2023: In response to the in-definite blockade imposed along NH 2 by Kuki groups, resulting in serious disturbance caused to transportation of essential commodities, Coordinating Committee on Present Situa-tion in Manipur, Khonghampat has imposed total shutdown on operation of commercial vehicles along the highway.

The Committee, which is an apex body of different or-ganisations of Khonghampat, Loitang, Khamaran, Pheidinga, Tendonyang, Kanglatongbi and Loitang Leikinthabi, took the decision to prohibit movement of commercial vehicles in an emergency executive meet-ing held on Monday.

While announcing the decision, the committee also appealed to transporters to cooperate with the decision in the larger inter-est of the public.

Informing that the blockade will commence from Tuesday midnight, the committee cau-tioned that in case of any un-wanted incidents arising out of defying the restriction, the vehicle owner and driver shall bear the responsibilities.
