Myanmar men with bullet injuries brought to CCpur hospital

Imphal, July 10 2023:
At least five men who intruded into Manipur from Myanmar were treated for bullet and splinter injuries at Churachandpur district hospital in June.
Although it is not clear where and how they got injured, three of them sustained bullet injuries while the other two were hit by splinters.
All five of them hail from Tamu, Myanmar, sources informed.
Three of them were admitted to the hospital's Ortho Ward on June 15 .
Of the remaining two, one was admitted to the Ortho Ward on June 17 while the other was admitted to ICU on the same day.
The three admitted to Churachandpur district hospital on June 15 have been identified as Thargyi, Khaipi and Lulminlal.
Thargyi sustained splinter injuries on the left hand and right cheek.
Khaipu sustained bullet injury on the right shoulder while Lulminlal sustained bullet injury on the left shoulder.
The other two brought to the hospital on June 17 have been identified as Konan and Joky.
While Konan sustained minor injury on the left eye, Joky sustained bullet injury on the stomach.
It is not yet clear when these five Myanmarese men intruded into Manipur (India) and how they got injured.
Notably, since the eruption of the communal crisis on May 3, the combined force of illegal immigrants from Myanmar (Chin militants) and Kuki militants have been attacking a number of Meitei villages one after another and sometimes simultaneously at multiple locations resulting in encounters with village defence volunteers and security forces.
A fierce gun battle was fought on June 15 between Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai of Bishnupur district and a Vaiphei village located in between K Kotlen and Kangvai of Churachandpur district.
The gun battle which started at around 3.40 pm of June 15 went on till 7 am of the next day.
Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai came under heavy attack from the nearby Kuki villages on the night of June 16 too.
As police commandos, VDF and village volunteers retaliated, there was a fierce gun battle which went on till late night.
However, it could not be.
confirmed yet whether those men from Tamu, Myanmar who were brought to Churachandpur district hospital on June 15 and June 17 were injured in these gun battles or elsewhere.
Moreover, two other Myanmar men who sustained splinter injuries were brought to Churachandpur district hospital on April 20 .
They were identified as Awngphyowai and Ngamboi of Tamu, Myanmar.
They sustained splinter injuries on the legs and hands.
One David Thetpaing U from Tamu, Myanmar served as their attendant at the hospital, added the sources.
