6-member IUML team reaches

A 6-member team of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) led by its president Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal reached Imphal on a two day visit today.
Besides, Sayyid Sadiq Shihab, the other members of the team include four Members of the Parliament, Lok Sabha MP ET Mohammed Basheer, LS MP Dr MP Abdussamad Samadani, LS MP K Navas Kani, Rajya Sabha MP Abdul Wahab and Muslim League secretary Khorum Anis Omer.
At the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) members received the delegation by presenting with shawls. Speaking to media persons, Lok Sabha MP ET Mohammed Basheer said the team is here to take stock of the present crisis in Manipur.
"We have heard about the present crisis.
We are here to understand the ground reality and take stock of the prevailing tension.
The Parliament Session is about to start soon and we think it is imperative that we know the ground situation," said the MP.
The team will call on Governor Anusuiya Uikey and visit relief camps to meet the displaced people and hear their grievances, he added.
AMMOCOC president SM Jalal said the delegation is here to take stock of the prevailing tension and bring the message of peace, harmony and coexistence to the people.
He expressed that the delegation's visit will have a positive impact and accelerate the peace building process.
