Meitei Pangals ofKwaktahave resolved to stand against narco-terrorisirf and any activity which may hinder the peace-process in trouble-torn Manipur during a public convention held today at Kwakta Bazar.
During the convention organised by Meitei Pangal Intellectual Forum, Bishnupur, the gathering urged all not to make Kwakta a battlefield for Meitei-Kuki conflict and to stop launching gun attacks and bombardment at Kwakta.
Placards with inscriptions, "Long Live Manipur", "Don't turn Kwakta into battlefield", "Violence is not the solution" and "We want to live in peace" were displayed during the convention.
At the event, All Kwakta Co-ordinating Committee secretary Mayangmayum Anish Amahamad said tha tpeople of Kwakta have been gready affected by the violence in Manipur due to frequent firing and bombaidment in their area.
Saying that the people of Kwakta are not an enemy of any community and want to live peacefully with all communities, he appealed to the parties in conflict not to turn Kwakta into a battlefront.
Saying that about 200 families of Kwakta have been displaced by the violence in Manipur while another 50 have been bombarded or fired upon though the attack is not entirely against them, Anish appealed to one and all to not use violence in their area.
