Special job cards distributed

MGNREGS special job cards and Rs 1000 each were distributed to displaced people currently taking shelter at different relief camps.
The new initiative was launched by RD&PR Minister Y Khemchand at the relief camp opened at Manipur College, Singjamei today.
It is said that 3382 special job cards have been prepared, for distribution to displaced people currently taking shelter in different relief camps.
Around 167 people of 50 families are currently taking shelter at the Manipur College relief camp.
Special job cards were distributed to members of 25 families out of the 50.Moreover, Rs 1000 was given to each and every individual, including children who are taking shelter in the relief camp.
The work place for the job cards distributed today is Langthabal Mantrikhong.
Khemchand said that the remaining families would also be given MGNREGS special job cards at the earliest.
The daily wage entitled to MGNREGS specialjob cardholders is Rs 260 .
Saying that the number of houses burnt down or vandalised so far is being counted, the RD&PR Minister said that a report would be sent to the RD&PR Ministry once the counting is completed and all efforts would be made to construct new houses for the affected families under PMAY.
It would be ensured that benefits of all schemes launched under Rural Development reach every displaced people, Khemchand said.
Saying that the Government would extend all possible assistance, Khemchand appealed to the people to calm down and shun violence.
Additional Chief Secretary MH Khan was also present during the distribution of MGNREGS special job cards and money.
