Many call on Governor Anusuiya Uikey

Imphal, October 11 2023: People from different sections of society called on Governor Anusuiya today to discuss the revival of the State's economy, difficulties faced by sportspersons and briefed her on distribution of relief materials to displaced folks.

Today, Lairenjam Niranjan Singh, Director and CEO of JCRE Skill Solutions, Imphal along with Srikumar Menon, Retd Ambassador and Vijay Kumar, Founder and CEO, INLAMOBI International Labour Mobility met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and discussed ideas and initiatives that could contribute to the revival of Manipur's economy through economic empowerment of Manipuri women via food and fragrance extraction supported by Women's Skill University.

With an objective to improve the ecosystem and infrastructure in Manipur with the support of international partners, they shared that they have undertaken thorough research on this matter and are keen to share their findings and ideas for potential solutions for the women and youths of Manipur.

The Governor welcomed their innovative ideas and lauded their efforts and said it is the need of the hour to start developmental activities for the economic sustainability of the displaced people in the State.

Separately, Kh Hemabati Devi, international Judo player and Proprietor of Young Talent Judo Academy at Phougakchao Ikhai, Bishnupur along with Asem Becha and Angom Khambi called on Governor Uikey today and apprised her about the difficulties faced by sportspersons in their day-to-day activities due to the ongoing clashes.

Kh Hemabati Devi who has been staying at Moirang Relief Camp as her house was damaged during the crisis that started on May 3, requested the Governor to provide an electric vehicle to help her support her family and ensure their financial stability.

The Governor not only assured to extend financial assistance to her family but added that the State Government will give compensation for the damage to her house.

She also encouraged the international Judo player to continue her enthusiasm in training young players.

Lastly, chairman of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Manipur Narendra Ningomba along with secretary, IRCS Manipur, A Nabachandra called on the Governor and briefed her on the distribution of relief materials to displaced people staying in relief camps.

They further informed that first aid training was conducted at various places in Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching districts and police departments.

The Governor advised them to compile reports of items that have been distributed and to chalk out a plan for further distribution of relief materials.

She also called for even distribution of relief materials to all affected people staying in various relief camps in the valley as well as hill districts.

Governor Uikey also said that her Office in coordination with the State Government machinery will facilitate the transportation of relief materials to critical areas.
