Imphal, October 11 2023:
The Coordination Committee (CorCom), the conglomerate of proscribed groups of Manipur (Kangleipak), has imposed total shutdown on October 15 in protest against India's forcible merger of Manipur (Kangleipak) on this day in 1949 .
The total shutdown throughout Manipur (Kangleipak), however, will be exempted for medical emergency, fire, media and religious ceremonies, CorCom publicity committee informed in a statement.
According to the CorCom statement, Manipur (Kangleipak) regained its sovereign status in the midnight of August 14, 1947 after remaining under the rule of British imperialist for 56 years.
However, India swiftly and forcibly annexed Manipur (Kangleipak) on October 15, 1949 in collusion with the then Congress government and the day is being observed as National Black Day every year by the outfit and there is no let up for this year (2023) too, CorCom said and appealed to people to join in the observance of National Black Day with strict adherence to total shutdown being called from 6am to 6pm of October 15 .
Deeply concerned over the pains and suffering of the people due to the ongoing violence in Manipur (Kangleipak), CorCom accused Government of India and Indian Army of playing pivotal role in inciting communal conflict in Manipur through the state's administrators and their henchmen.
As a result of the proxy war orchestrated by Government of India, scores of innocent people of Manipur (Kangleipak) have lost their precious lives while many are enduring suffering due to missing of their near and dear ones.
Apart from igniting violence and internal strife among indigenous communities inhabiting Manipur (Kangleipak) since time immemorial, the ongoing proxy war also has an agenda aimed at transforming the state into a region predominantly dominated by mainland Indians under the cover of Indian forces, CorCom alleged further.
PM Modi mentioned India as a holy land of Buddha and Gandhi during the G20 summit on one hand but allowed the mayhem to continue in Manipur (Kangleipak) as if the state is not a part of India.
When Modi came to Manipur for the first time in 2014, CorCom predicted his visit as an 'Omen' for the state and it turned out true now as India is presently ruled by those who killed Gandhi and not hesitant from speaking lies and fabricate narratives, CorCom said, adding that what India wants from Manipur (Kangleipak) is only the untapped resources of the land.
While calling upon the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) to wake up and understand India's nefarious agenda collectively, CorCom maintained that Manipur (Kangleipak) belongs to all the indigenous communities inhabiting in the land since time immemorial.
Apart from calling upon all the indigenous communities of Manipur to remain vigilant and discern conspiracies being orchestrated by India, the conglomerate group also urged all the indigenous communities to prioritize peaceful coexistence and collective development while launching unified resistance against India.
