'Honour all who died defending Manipur'

Korengei Wangma Village Development Committee president Phijam Priyokumar has stated that the central government should honour and award all those who died defending the integrity and unity of Manipur from the onslaught of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists, funded by outside forces.
On Wednesday, the Development Committee offered floral tributes to all those who lost their lives in the conflict, at Awang Wabagai community hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Priyokumar recalled NIA's statements that the conflict in Manipur is being orchestrated by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists to disintegrate Manipur and India, with funding from external forces.
Stating that the central government should honour and award all those who have died in defending the integrity of Manipur, he also remarked that there are many daily wage earners who have been injured in the conflict.
The injured should be sup ported for their efforts in defending the integrity of the state.
Priyokumar then urged for recovering the bodies of the two deceased students at the earliest and handing them over to their respective families.
The government should also try to trace the whereabouts of all those who have been missing since the start of the conflict, in addition to dismantling all bunkers of Chin Kuki narco-terrorists along Koirengei to Kanglatongbi, considering the frequent attacks from these bunkers towards valley area, he demanded.
The president also urged all micro finance institutions and private investment groups operating under the Committee's jurisdiction not to collect interests from people for the conflict-period.
