AMPWA's Foundation Day celebrated

The All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on October 2, 2023 at Hatta Manaingkhol, Imphal.
It was attended by AR Khan, president AMPWA; Akhtar Hussain, vice president AMPWA; Dr Md Maneruddin Sheikh, ex-Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly; Laaljan Begum retired Principal, GP Women's College; Dr MA Razaque, retired Prof & HoD, Chest Diseases Department, RIIMS, Imphal; Rlyaz Ahmed Shah retired AFA, Power department, GoM; Syed Suleiman, retired Serisdar, District & Session Judge, Imphal West and Md Abdul Bari, retired Accounts Officer, BSNL, Imphal as presidium members.
Various eminent personalities among Meitei Pangals of Manipur also attended the function and shared their valuable inputs.
In his welcome address, Dr Md Rahejuddin Sheikh, CEC, AMPWA and Principal of Moirang College, mentioned that AMPWA was born on the day when the true two leaders of India, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri were born.
The participants also observed two minutes of silence for the innocent victims of current Manipur violence and special prayer was offered to restore normalcy and peace in the State.
Also, Special prayers were offered for the departed souls of deceased members of AMPWA.
AR Khan felicitated the octogenarian founder members of AMPWA namely Akhtar Hussain, Dr Md Maneruddin Sheikh, Laaljan Begum, Dr MA Razaque, Riyaz Ahmed Shah, Syed Suleiman and Md Abdul Bari.
Abdus Salam, secretary general AMPWA delivered the keynote address while the vote of thanks was proposed by Md Salauddin Khan, joint secretary AMPWA.
As part of the event, an e-book "AMPWA: Journey of 30 years" showcasing the achievements of AMPWA in the last three decades was also launched.
