Imphal, July 15 2010:
The GPRN/NSCN and NNC/FGN have agreed to unite unconditionally in principle.
Leaders of both the outfits took a pledge towards this end at a meeting at Monyunkshu town, Konyak region today.
The two parties also made a joint declaration which read "whereas, upholding and implementing the commitment of the Covenant of Reconciliation signed by Brig (retd) S Singnya, the President of the NNC/FGN, Messrs SS Khaplang and Isak Chisi Swu, Chairmen of the GPRN/NSCN and NSCN/GPRN respectively and in response to the aspiration of the Naga people, the FGN and the GPRN, do hereby commit ourselves to unite in principle unconditionally at the Monyakshu conclave and unanimously resolve to evolve a common platform with equal participation of our people to expedite a final settlement of the Naga political issue".

The joint declaration was signed by president Brig (retd) S Singnya, vice-president Zhopra Vero and Deputy C-in-C Maj Gen TM Rakho on behalf of the FGN and prime minister N Kitovi Zhimomi, C-in-C Gen Khole and convenor Azheto Chophi on behalf of GPRN/NSCN.
