DSSS, Cantas India reach out to victims of conflict with relief items, hold medical camps

The Catholic Church in Manipur sharing the pains and sufferings of the people of the State initiated a locally led "Humanitarian Response" in conflict affected areas of Imphal East district yesterday.
The humanitarian response of the Catholic Church in Manipur is being carried out under its Social Work wing.
Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) Imphal in collaboration with Caritas In-dia- a National level Catholic Church Organization.
Based in Mantripukhri DSSS Imphal in collaboration with Caritas India has been distributing shelter kits, food kits and dignity kits to 480 conflict affected families from various parts of the State taking shelter in relief camps at Khundrakpam NB College, Heingang Kontha Makha Leikai, Biramangol College, Yaurabung, Yambem High School, Yairipok, Top Chingtha High School and Laimanai in
Yairipok.
Considering the need, the organisations conducted medical camps in Yambem High School relief camp and Top Chingtha High School relief camp on July 6, at Biramangol College relief camp and Yourabung relief camp on July 7 and at NB College Khundrakpam relief camp and Hiengang Kontha Makha Leikai today.
70 patients at Yairipok, 60 at Yurabung relief camp, 97 at Biramangol College Sawombung, 55 at Khundrakpam and 63 at Hiengang are given free health check-up and medicines during the camps.
The organisations are also ready to conduct similar health camps at Yairipok Laimanai in the coming days.
Moreover the organisations are also aiming to provide nutritional food supplements to children between 2 and 14 years of age in all the above-mentioned relief camps.
The Catholic Church also wished for the earliest restoration of peace and harmony in the State.
