HC directs State police to hand over body

Imphal, July 08 2023:
The High Court of Manipur has asked the State police to hand over the body of Mutum Roshan Mangang (34) to his family members within three days to perform last rites.
The Court also asked the family members of the deceased to receive the body.
Originally from Khumujamba Meitei Leikai in Churachandpur district, Mutum Roshan Mangang was found dead inside the family quarter of Moirang police station on June 9
(7 am) .
Moirang police have also taken up an FIR pertaining to the incident.
Further, the Court directed the State police to speedily investigate the death of a 34 year old youth and file a charge sheet before the Court within three months.
Following the death of Mutum Roshan, brother of the deceased Mutum Yoiremba (28) filed a writ petition (C) to the High Court with the State of Manipur represented by Principal Secretary (Home), Bishnupur SP and Officer-in-charge of Moirang police station as respondents.
