Cash aid, essential items provided to relief camps

Anal CSOs of Chan-del district led by Anal Naga Union president Phamhring Sengul, Anallon Chief As-sociation (ALCA) president KL John Motah, ALCA vice president HL Monohring, Anal Sinnu Ruwl president Khingam Sinruwng and vice president Tonila Pashel, and Anal Lenruwl Tangpi pres-ident Ningwar Bungdon provided firewood to relief camp set up at Indoor Sta-dium, Kakching on Friday.
A four-member team of Manipuri Literary and Cul-tural Forum, Tripura led by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi member Khoisnam Birola on behalf of Meetei community of Tripura extended financial assistance to RIMS Help Unit Team as well as relief camps sheltering violence affected people of Serou and Torbung villages.
The team also included Forum members Maitham Pradip Singha, Hijam (o) Sarika and N Jamuna Singha.
Meanwhile, Catholic Church in Manipur's social work wing, Diocesan So-cial Service Society (DSSS), Imphal in collaboration with Caritas India has so far dis-tributed essential items to relief camps opened at NB College, Khundrakpam; Heingang Kontha Makha Leikai; Biramangol Col-lege, Sawombung; Your-bung; Sawombung; Yambem High School, Yairipok; Top Chingtha High School and Yairipok Laimanai The Society also organ-ised medical camps at relief camps set up in Yambem High School and Top Chingtha High School on July 6, Biramangol College and Yourabung on Friday and at NB College and Hein-gang Kontha Makha Leikai community hall on Satur-day.
Meanwhile, Fraternity of Lions Clubs under 322D donated a sum of Rs 44,000 to relief camp set up at Ma-nipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong in Imphal West district on Saturday.
The donation programme led by Lions Clubs' Dr W Gopimohan was also par-ticipated by members and executives namely Th Kesho and H Manikumar.
According to Dr Gopi-mohan, various branches of Lions District 322D have so far provided assistance to 16 relief camps across the state.
It is said that the re-lief camp opened Lamboi Khongnangkhong currently houses over 500 displaced people from Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and other districts.
