More bunkers dismantled

Imphal, July 08 2023:
Central and State security forces destroyed 33 more bunkers set up in Kangpokpi and Bishnupur districts in the last 24 hours, informed the Police Control Room (PCR) in its fresh bulletin.
As per the Control Room, fresh instances of gun attacks were reported from Phubala and Kwakta today, during which two persons sustained injuries.
The PCR conveyed that some villagers went to the paddy fields on the western side ofHigh Canal at Phubala in Bishnupur.
Saying that the villages however went beyond the High Canal against the advice of district administration and security forces, the Control Room continued that armed miscreants fired towards the villagers, leaving one of them injured on his right thigh (bullet injury) .
The injured person has been evacuated to Imphal, it said and added that armed miscreants were repelled by the BSF deployed in the area.
In another incident, unknown miscreants fired a mortar shell from Thangjing foothill areas towards Kwakta Ward no 8 in Bishnupur, said the PCR and added that the shell hit the house of one Md Waris Khan (18), s/o Md Ayub Khan.
Waris was hit by mortar splinters but he is out of danger as he has been discharged from a hospital after medical treatment, it added.
Meanwhile, the PCR said that armed miscreants fired bullets and lathode bombs towards Imphal West police deployed at Koutruk and NSUI complex from the adjoining hills of Bethel Village.
