Kangpokpi, July 08 2023:
Expressing concern over endless attacks on Kuki villages and civilians in area bordering Imphal valley by Meitei miscreants and armed groups, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the Kuki tribes, has stated that peace is doomed to be elusive as long as Biren Singh is at the helm of the affairs of the state.
KIM further alleged that N Biren is a "double standard personality", who preaches peace on one hand, while en-couraging his people to attack the Kukis at the peripheral areas or elsewhere on the other hand.
In a press communiqu re-leased its general secretary Kaikhohauh Gangte on Satur-day, KIM wondered how can the Kukis expect fair dealings or fairness from a man who engineered their doom as a people.
It also alleged that N Biren spat venoms at Kulcis and SoO groups by terming them as 'terrorists', but while never uttering a word against thosearmed miscreants whose lead role in the attack on Kuki civilians is wide& known by all.
It further said that side-by-sidewith the rhetoric of improv-ing situation by people at the helm of affairs, Kuki villages in ICangvaiarea in Churachandpur district cameunderconstant at-tacks from theMeitei miscreants a couple of days back, claiming the lives of three villagers.
The Kuki body continued that it cannot comprehend the logic behind making N liken Singh as the head of the Unified Com-mand even when he has lost all confidence and trust.
"A person who orchestrated the ethnic cleansing pogrom against the Kukis being appoint-ed as the head of the Unified Command defeats all purposes and renders it meaningless," asserted KIM.
The Kuki body then alleged that not only had Biren Singh masterminded the genocidal killings against the Kukis, he in-cited a hate campaign against the !adds and is still using provoca-tive and incendiary comments against the Kukis via socialme-dia platforms.
As such, Biren should not be allowed in any manner to remain at the helm of affairs if all concerned are serious about peace to be re-stored, it added.
KIM alsonoted with concern that Birth's leadership is a nui-sance, havoc and a total failure.
It then urged the Government of India to take notice of the stated views of the public and remove Biren Singh from the Unified Command in ordertobrhig trust and confidence, adding "Biren's nexus withsecessionistelements also merits a thorough probe." KIM would not extend any form of cooperation to the Unified Command and would be compelled to construe that Biren Singh is allowedfree hands to annihilate the Kukis, unless he is removed as the in-charge or even from a member of tfie Unified Command.
