Kangpokpi, July 08 2023:
Strongly negating the incessant mentioning of 'War against Narco-Terror-ism' which has taken shape in the open declaration of War against Narco-Terrorists' by COCOMI; Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) vehemently confronted the same as it deems pertinent to refute the allegation to avoid misguiding the public on the current turmoil in Manipur.
In this regard, KIM Infor-mation and Publicity secretary Janghaolun Haokip said that the present wide-scale violence in Manipur is neither a war against narco-terrorism or against So0 militants nor a war against Ille-gal Immigrants as desperately described by the Meiteis and their leaders in the media.
In re-ality, it is rather a targeted, pre-planned ethnic cleansing against the minority Kuki community, a monstrous attempt for complete annihilation of Kukis, who are true citizens of the country by Meitei groups, sponsored by the Meitei Manipur government and supported by the manipulated Meitei populace.
He maintained that the ongo-ing crisis in Manipur is orches-trated and perpetrated under the nose of the incumbent Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
Janghaolun continued that accordingly, if the ongoing crisis is a war against narco- terror-ism, as brazenly declared by COCOMI and its support groups, they then must be called to an-swer why the Kuki settlements in the Imphal region were ruth-lessly attacked on the night of May 3, with almost a hundred people killed overnight and hundreds of houses reduced to cinders.
"COCOMI must, to that mat-ter, justify the "narco-terror-ists' charge it laid against all Kukis that ultimately led to the attacking of the Kukis and their properties in the valley and as well as in the peripheral re-gions," he added.
Janghaolun said: "KIM is compelled to reiterate its firm stance that the ongoing crisis in Manipur is an ethnic strife, a pre-planned ethnic cleans-ing against the minority Kuki community, perpetrated by the majority Meiteis, as strictly op-posed to changing narratives as a war between Manipur govern-ment and So0 groups, or a war between Manipur Government and illegal immigrants." KIM, therefore, will stand tooth and nail against any false and fabricated narratives that attempts to hide the hand be-hind this unprecedented scale of violence and unrest in the region, and also the deliberate attempt to paint the oppressed Kuki community as the oppres-sors through the use of power and influence.
'In fact, the present conflict is the eventual culmination of the seed of hatred and enmi-ty that has been long sown by the Chief Minister through his communal agendas and propa-gandas, especially against the Kuki community," it asserted.
