Interaction / discussion programme held

In line with the celebration of National Youth Day, Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur (IIIT Manipur), in collaboration with Think India yesterday organised an Interaction cum Discussion Programme on "Role of Engineering Students for a Viksit Bharat 2047" at the IIIT Manipur Auditorium.
The programme began with a welcome address delivered by Dr Leihaorambam Sarbajit Singh, Interim Registrar, IIIT Manipur, said a release.
Dr Rajshree Rajkumari, Faculty, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIIT Manipur provided insights into Think India, highlighting its significance and the opportunities for internships.

Giving the keynote address, Dr Th David Singh, Associate Professor, NIT Manipur & ABVP NEC Special Invitee, emphasized the importance of youth engagement in problem-solving and the adoption of emerging technologies across various domains.
He also shed light on the National Education Policy (NEP) and encouraged the youth to leverage technology for writing literature in local languages.
As part of the event, an innovative idea competition was held, where seven students from the first year of IIIT Manipur presented their ideas on topics such as green energy, biogas, radio taxi, urban mobility system, innovative education system, and electric vehicles (EV) with C-code.
S Naveen, 1st year student, claimed the first prize with his innovative concept on electric vehicles and C code.
Pawan Kumar Dangi, 1st year CSE AID student, won the second prize for his idea on task-based degree completion with the innovative education system while Rounak Prajapati, 2nd semester ECE student, bagged the 3d prize for his insights on the Urban Mobility system.
