The meeting was organised by the Forum for Restoration of Peace in collaboration with the All Manipur Gorkha Students' Association and Liangmai Naga, Kanglatongbi.
The meeting which was attended by around 150 individuals from different ethnic groups unanimously resolved to make Kanglatongbi a peace zone and not a war zone.
The meeting also drew the attention of the Chief Minister to hold a consultative meeting of all CSOs and stakeholders as an immediate measure to restore peace at the earliest.
Speaking to the media on the sideline of the meeting, convener of Forum for Restoration of Peace, Ashang Kasar informed that the forum has been exuding maximum efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the State of Manipur since the conflict began on May 3 last by holding such meetings in different sensitive zones.
Decrying the PM in-action and not uttering a single word on the present unrest which has claimed over hundred casualties and displaced many families, he said, "It seems the PM only wants votes from Manipur but does not care about the violence taking place in Manipur" .
He also appealed for early restoration of peace in the interest of humankind.
