PRO clears air on treatment of foreign nationals

Referring to media reports about some Myanmarese with bullet injuries being treated in Churachandpur district hospital, PRO IGAR (S) has clarified that narrative of the foreign nationals' involvement in on-going violence is fake and is being initiated for vested interests by inimical elements.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a total of 16 people including eight Indian nationals, who were essentially drivers or passengers, one Myanmarese translator and another seven injured civilians (Myanmarese) reportedly from violence in their own country were intercepted by Assam Rifles on June 15,16 and 21 at Yangoubung in Chandel district.
In accordance with existing standard operating procedures, the case was informed to the district police for further follow up thereafter, the PRO said.
