Protestors burn effigies of PM, HM, AR

Decrying the silence of Prime Minister, failure of union home minister and accusing the Assam Rifles of being partisan in its conduct and act.-protestors burned effigies of PM Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and Assam Rifles on Tuesday.
The protests were organised at Naoremthong Khulem Leikai by Nupisingee Apunba Yaipha Lup, and at Naoremthong Laishram Leikai by Naoremthong Laishram Leikai Nuipisingee Chaokhat Thourang Lup.
They shouted slogans demanding CM Biren to do what is needed to control the situation & save Manipur, removal of Assam Rifles from the state, dismantle bunkers of Kuki militants, revocation of the SoO agreement and protection of territorial integrity of Manipur.
Protestors said that scores of village volunteers are being killed in armed attacks by Kuki militants, who have occupied and set up bunkers adjacent to Meetei villages in the foothills.
However, the central and state government have not been able to flush out the Kuki militants.
Instead, more bunkers are coming up in the hillsides, from where attacks on Meetei villages are being carried out, the protestors said while demanding necessary measures to deescalate the crisis and restore peace in the state.
