Meira Paibi prods conscience of indigenous communities

Stating that it is not the time for the indigenous communities of Manipur to spectate silently on the ground that they are not directly affected, Thang-meiband Sinam Leikai Meira Paibi cautioned that the on-going violence is a threat to all the indigenes.
The Meira Paibi group organised a sit-in demonstration at Sinam Leikai on Wednesday demanding removal of Assam Rifles from the state, abrogation of SoO agreement and restoration of peace in Manipur.
The demonstration also demanded that no central force will be allowed to enter Cheiraoc-hing in Thangmeiband without the approval /permission of the state authority.
Speaking to reporters on the side-lines of the agitation, Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai Meira Paibi advisor Khagembam Bilashini pointed out the conflict is not only between the Meiteis and the Kukis but between two nations, which the government of India hesitating to acknowledge in-spite of being full aware about.
While condemning the manner in which RAF personnel in 11 vehicles arrived at Cheiraoching for 'picnic' and the unwanted incident.
that followed in the strongest terms, she demanded removal of all central forces from the'State.
No central forces, hereafter will be allowed to enter Cheiraoching without the permission of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai clubs, she declared.
