MSC Bank, Kangpokpi found looted

The deputy manager of Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB), Kangpokpi branch has filed a complaint at Kangpokpi police station on Wednesday after the bank was found looted by unknown miscreants when re-opened on Tuesday after a break of two months.
This is the second time that the MSCB has been looted, with the first being in May in Churachandpur town during which the miscreants took away cash worth over Rs 11 lakh, vandalised the bank and also took away six computers among others.
In the complaint filed to the officer in charge of Kangpokpi police station, deputy manager of MSCB Ltd, Kangpokpi branch Ngaoni Dovei informed that the tank branch had been closed from May 4 last till July 10; 2023 in view of the law and order situation ill the state.
The complaint mentioned that on Wednesday, when Ngaoni Dovei along with two other staff of the bank namely L Haongam (Senior Account Assistant) and Lamginhao Chongloi (MTS) opened the bank around 11:30 am, it was found that the bank has been vandalised and looted.
It further informed that the miscreants took away 6 computer sets, 1 canon printer and CCTV camera hard drive.
No cash was looted as cash from the cash vault and ATM had already been taken out in the middle week of May on the advice from the head office.
The complaint application further urged the Kangpokpi police to take up necessary action against those involved in the act.
It is also worth mentioning that on July 10 cash and gold ornaments worth over Rs 3 crore were found looted from Axis bank in Churachandpur.
