Imphal, July 12 2023:
All Manipur Nupi Marup has appealed to the Government to revoke the FIRs filed against the leaders of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) and rather take action against those demanding separate administration.
Speaking to media persons today at Irawat Bhawan, All Manipur Nupi Marup secretary L Sumatibala shared that the two leaders of NFIW namely Annie Raja and Nisha Siddhu visited Manipur to extend support and solidarity to the people of Manipur who have been affected by the present unrest.
She mentioned that the NFIW leaders visited the relief camps set up in the valley area to enquire about the difficulties faced by the displaced people especially women and children.

In regard to the "Drama" remark, she clarified that the NFIW leaders may have made the remark due to the large gathering of people at CM Bunglow and near Raj Bhavan to protest the resignation of the Chief Minister despite the imposition of CrPC Section 144 in the area.
She urged the Government to withdraw the FIRs against the NFIW leaders for making the remark and instead take action against those who are threatening the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Denouncing the failure of the Government to end the violence even after two months, she asserted that the Government should focus on finding a solution to end the violence and take immediate action against the Kuki militants under SoO who have been killing innocent civilians.
"How long will the women folk camp in the road to defend the homes", asked Sumatibala while adding that the Government should call an Assembly Session and take a joint decision on priority basis to protect the public and the State.
She asserted that all the elected representatives irrespective of their political beliefs should come together to make the State Government strong instead of playing games to win political mileage during these crucial junctures.
Questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the present unrest, Sumatibala further asked whether the PM considered the people of Manipur as Indian citizens or not.
"Is the PM waiting for the whole of Manipur to turn to ashes before he finally acts?", she asked.
