Thoubal, July 12 2023: As the State continues to bear the brunt of the two-month old conflict, many helping hands have come forward to assist the displaced families at various relief camps.

In this vein, members of Ipanat Ipunat Ekallasi Kangleipak have donated three bags of rice to the UFO Middle South Head Quarter relief camp located at Mayang Imphal Charoipung.

The team also made a monetary donation of an undisclosed sum to aid the relief camp inmates.

In this regard, Elangbam Shyamjai, president, Ipanat Ipunat Ekallasi Kangleipak conveyed that even though these are scary times, the organisation realises the need for people to remain strong and undeterred in the face of such atrocities, and thus the relief extension initiative was organised to encourage and assist the inmates.

"Even though we are unable to volunteer our services in the peripheral areas to safeguard the vulnerable villages, we have organised this relief initiative to help the people in another way", he said.

He encouraged people to follow the traditional wisdom of the founders of the seven Meitei clans and assured them that victory will be theirs.

Meanwhile, a team led by Dr Florance Haobam, founder of Aesthetic Realm, Lamphel Super Market, distributed medicinal items, sanitary pads, stationery products and consumable items at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief camp and Relief Students Residential Camp, IRE Wangjing today.

Speaking in this connection Dr Florance appealed to both the Central and State Government to work sincerely to resolve the conflict.

Separately, Likmabam Bino Devi Foundation, Wangjing Hodamba Heitup Pokpi distributed relief items to the relief centres at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Lamding Higher Secondary School and Wabagai Higher Secondary School.

The aid items are rice, lentils, onions, potatoes, cooking oil, detergent, soap, milk, shampoo, mugs, diapers, sanitary pads, tooth paste, tooth brush, combs, kids wear, ladies pack, mens' pack and snacks for children among others.

Speaking in this connection, Likmabam Ibomcha, Director, Likmabam Bino Devi Foundation shared that the Foundation which was established in the name of his late mother, has consistently extended help to those who have fallen on hard times.

He added that the Foundation is providing free skill development training to inmates above 18 years of age to help them generate an income stream.

Further, preparations are underway to impart educational classes to the children and ensure their admission into schools under the Foundation, he said.

Lastly, the Peace and Integrity Committee, Haokha Mamang Leikai Thoubal has extended aid to Khoijumantabi relief camp and Chairen Mangjil relief camp today.

The Committee distributed roughly Rs 20,000 worth of clothing items and essential commodities to the displaced inmates.
