Chief secretary meets IDPs, distributes relief items

CCpur, August 31 2023: Chief Secretary Dr Vineet Joshi visited Churachandpur district and interacted with the displaced people staying in relief camps as well as CSO leaders on Thursday.

The chief secretary visit covered five relief centres namely EC A Tuibong, Greenwood Academy, CFC Tuibong, N Muolhoi and M Songgel Relief Centres.

He also distributed relief materials including blankets, buckets and mattresses to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) at these centres and interacted with the affected people.

He also assessed progress of the prefabricated houses being constructed at T Bethlehem for people displaced by the on-going ethnic clash.

He was accompanied by CCpur DC Dharun Kumar, SP Karthik Malladi, DNO (relief camp) Mannuamching and other government officials.

The chief secretary held a meeting with the leaders of various CSO leaders and displaced medical, nursing and NIT students at the conference hall of the DC's Office, here.

He expressed his deep concern over the hardships being faced by the students and general public and assured of necessary support at the earliest.
