Imphal, March 11 2024:
Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) and Manipur Women's Federation (MWF) have categorically stated that the recent viral video of Chin-Kuki women causing obstruction to state forces in discharging their duty at Moreh cannot be taken lightly.
In separate releases, COCOMI and MWF pointed out that Chin-Kuki women hindering the police from carrying out investigation into the recent thrashing of two Meitei Pangals near Moreh town tantamount to challenging the state forces with the ulterior motive to demoralise them from tackling anti-social elements.
While seeking empower ment of the police for efficient operation anywhere in the state, the two organisations suggested that the government effectively deal with those hindering state forces from maintaining law and order.
Action should be taken up against the said women folk for causing obstruction to the investigative process pertaining to the criminal act of thrashing civilians, they added.
Moreover, COCOMI condemned the recent act of arson committed on government school building, Primary Health Centre (PHC) and houses at Kwatha Khunou.
It pointed out that torching of the structures underscores that the conflict is fallout of a diabolic scheme of outsiders to disturb peace in the state.
COCOMI also expressed strong resentment that inspite of lapse of term of the SoO agreement, the central government seems to be relishing immunity granted to outsiders regardless of resorting to unprovoked violence.
In fact, continuous support to Kuki narco-terrorists even if they attack civilians and cause damage to public and private properties makes it crystal clear that the government disregards sentiment of the people of Manipur.
