Imphal, January 17 2024:
As the police commandos continue to face persistent attacks from Kuki militants, a senior official of special commando deployed in Moreh has reported that Myanmar-based militants have joined the Kuki militants in the attack and they are using war munitions in their attacks.
An audio recording of the senior commando officer went viral on social media on Wednesday after reports of Kuki militants attacking with RPG and sniper rifles claiming two CDO personnel.
In the audio, the CDO officer is heard saying, "Kuki militants in Moreh are specifically targeting the CDOs deployed in Moreh.
We endured whatever we could.
Now our commandos are getting killed and injured.
We have been exercising restraint but they are using war munitions" .
The CDO officer also said that the militants are firing incendiary munitions too for burning camps of state forces.
"When retaliated by state, they ran shouting in Burmese language.
We will carry out our duty.
Everybody watch (the visuals) like a festival.
We do not need anybody to come to rescue use, we will do our duty," the CDO officer said in the audio in a tone of resentment.
Meanwhile, another audio also went viral later in the evening, which is said to be a phone conversation between a cabinet minister and a senior officer of the special commando in Moreh.
In the audio, the cabinet minister is heard saying that he is with the chief minister and enquired about the situation in Moreh.
