Mega State Level Open Boxing Championship gets underway

Imphal, March 28 2022:
The Mega State Level Open Boxing Championship 2022 (men & women) kicked off at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena on Monday.
The first day saw 14 quarterfinal bouts in the sub-junior event being decided.
Those who advanced to the semifinal round in differ ent weight categories were Khaidem Sanatomba Meitei (STC-SA1), Chingakham Tingo (KBA), Nongthombam Henthoiba (PBA), Khaidem Lanchenba Meitei (STC-SAI), Laishram Mangansana (NBA), Rajkumar Yumkhaibam (IND), Khuraijam Guliver (KBA), Nandebam Babychand Meetei (NBA), Rakesh Konjengbam (IIS), Konjengbam Pathouba (STC-SAI), Tonabam Chingkheinganba (NBA), Pheiroijam Nonglen Meitei (NBA), Johnson Khoirom IND) and Musha Ahamad UBA).
The championship drew a total of 163 boxers, including 33 female pugilists, representing Nongada Boxing Academy (NBA), STC-SAI Utlou, Kangleiwan Boxing Academy (KBA), Puhingkhun Boxing Academy (PBA), Boby Boxing Academy, Inspire Institute of Sports Belary (IIS, Banga lore), United Boxing Acad emy (UBA) and Mary Kom Boxing Academy (MKBA).
The participants also included those competing individually (IND) .
