Fencing: State boys crowned team champions, girls' team finish second

Manipur's boys' team emerged champions while the girls' team secured second place at the 23rd Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship, which wrapped up on Monday at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The state fencers added four medals including a gold, all in team events, on the concluding day of the three-day-long competition.
Manipur's quartet of T Mangaleibi, L Thoithoi, S Me neka and Geeti L produced a stellar performance in the girls' foil team event to win the gold medal.
In the boys' epee team event, Sh Zenith, L Naresh, K Priyojit and P Debendra earned the silver medal.
Another silver medal was bagged by boys' foil team composed of K Prithibiraj, S Bicky, Manaoton and Ritan Kumar.
The girls' sabre team com prising P Baby Daina, P Am bika and Payal N and Priya N settled for the bronze medal.
On the first day of the championship on Saturday (March 26), Denial Hanjabam grabbed the gold medal in the sabre boys' individual event before both Ambika Pangambam (sabre girls') and Sh Zenith (boys' epee) claimed top podium honours in their respective events the following day.
