Superplate: PCC finish fourth in Group B; semifinals on April 28 & 29

Imphal, April 26 2023:
PCC (Mayai Koibi) beat UCC (Uripok) by 57 runs to finish fourth in Group B as the league round of the 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament wrapped up on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, PCC made 206/9 in their 40 overs with contributions from Rohit Soubam (50), Takhelmayum Vikash (26), Ajay Mahto Kumar (22), Chingakham Ranjan (19), Lucky Thokchom (15 not out) and Charoibam Tyson (14) .
For UCC, Leishangthem Bishorjit and Roshan Das equally shared six wickets between them as Asar Hussain and Bicky Kumar Das took one apiece.
In reply, UCC wilted under pressure and ended up managing 149, falling well short of the target, after being bowled out in 32.3 overs.
A fiery spell by the PCC trio of Rohit Soubam, Thoudam Monet and Lucky Thokchom helped their side to a dominant victory.
Rohit made his mark with a haul of four wickets while Monet and Lucky claimed three scalps each.
All-round Rohit Soubam was adjudged the man of the match for his 50 runs and four wickets.
The win saw PCC earn the fourth place of Group B with eight points from their seven games.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) on Wednesday announced the dates of the semifinals.
Accordingly, PTCC Patsoi Part-III and KCC Kongba will square off in the first semifinal on April 28 at Dhobi Lampak Kongba Khunou and ESU Wangkhei play KSDO Kiyamgei in the second semifinal on April 29 at the same venue.
