Bidya JAC threatens intense agitation

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the mysterious death of RK ningol Laishram ongbi Bidya Devi of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai has demanded authority concerned to book the and punish the culprits involved in the murder of Bidya by April 27 failing which it will be compelled to take up intense form of agitation from the next day.
The decision of the JAC was taken during a public meeting held at Ningthoukhong bazar under the joint initiative of the JAC and Apunba Lup, Ningthoukhong on Wednesday.
The meeting adopted a number of resolutions, which were later enumerated in a memorandum submitted to chief minister N Biren, YAS minister Govindas Konthoujam, and Bishnupur DC and SP.
The memorandum urged the concerned authority to give befitting punishment to perpetrators of the crime within the specified period and reiterated that the JAC along with CSOs, clubs and organisations and meira paibi groups will launch intense form of agitation from April 28 .
