Straight on his arrival at Imphal, Patra called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan.
Later, Sambit Patra reportedly attended a meeting of the party office bearers and Morchas at Nityaipat Chuthek and held discussions to bring a consensus among the party legislators and members this evening.
The Lok Sabha elections scheduled for next year was also discussed minutely as well as steps to ensure the win of the BJP in the two seats (Inner and Outer Parliamentary Constituencies) .
The meeting at Nityaipat Chuthek was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Lei-semba Sanajaoba and orga- nisation secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh Abhay Giri.
Notably, three MLAs of BJP namely Karam Shyam of Langthabal Constituency, Kh Raghumani of Uripok Constituency and Paonam Brojen of Wangjing Tentha Constituency resigned from the chairmanship of Government departments assigned to them one after another while Th Radheshyam of Heirok Constituency had stepped down from the post of Advisor to the CM.
Of the four MLAs, Th Radheshyam and Karam Shyam mentioned they were not entrusted with any responsibility while Kh Raghumani and Paonam Brojen cited personal reasons in their respective resignation letters.
A meeting of the BJP will be convened tomorrow in the presence of Sambit Patra and Chief Minister N Biren Singh and hold discussion on the seeming resentment within the State unit of the party.
Manipur unit BJP general secretary L Deben Singh has issued a notice asking all the Ministers and MLAs to attend the meeting on Thursday.
CM N Biren Singh, party's North East coordinator and National spokesperson Sambit Patra, Manipur unit BJP president A Sarda Devi and senior State party leaders would attend the meeting, Deben Singh said.
A party leader said the meeting on Thursday has been called following the directions of the party's Central leaders.
The Chief Minister had claimed earlier this week that there are no differences of opinion and resentment among the legislators.
Winning 32 seats in the 60-member Assembly, the BJP retained power for the second consecutive term in last year's polls.
