TCMDC, PTRC win in MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy

Imphal, April 26 2023:
TCMDC Thongju thumped Al-Ameen Lilong by eight wickets while PTRC Patsoi registered a two-wicket win over MODEL Singjamei in the MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy on Wednesday.
A superb bowling effort helped TCMDC bundle out Al-Ameen for a paltry 56 in 18.3 overs as Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma turned chief destroyer racking up four wickets.
Laishram Vivekananda and Rain Urikhimbam snapped two wickets each while Albert Sorokhaibam bagged one for the Thongju side.
Succumbing under pressure, Al-Ameen's innings saw only Sagir Ahamed (13), Ziour Rahman (11) and Imanur (11) get into double digits.
After their stunning bowling display, TCMDC needed just 7.1 overs to complete the chase courtesy of Rain Urikhimbam (25 not) and Takhellambam Nganba (5 not out) .
In the process, opener Kalyan Sharma (12) was caught off Arif Muhamed's bowling and Albert Sorokhaibam (1), who batted at No 3, fell prey to Ziour Rahman's bowling.
Rain Urikhimbam earned the man of the match accolade.
PTRC, on the other hand, bowled out MODEL in 33.3 overs for 136 and went on to chase down the target in 29.4 overs for their two-wicket win.
It was a collective bowling effort as Tamarland Pheiroijam picked three wickets, Rohit Sharma and Khaidem Joyraj took two each, and Thounaojam Pritam and Laitonjam James got one apiece for PTRC.
In MODEL'S innings, Biyon Naorem and Irungbam Tonton scored 31 each for their team.
In reply, PTRC reached the target in 29.4 overs with two wickets in hand.
The main contributors in their successful run chase were Grison Laitonjam (25), Tamaland Pheiroijam (20), Stoneson (19), Khaidem Jovraj (18) and Lann Naorem (17).For MODEL, Chirom Chiran dished out a fine bowling display taking four wickets but his effort went in vain.
Tamarland Pheiroijam was named the man of the match.
