World Malaria Day observed in Tbl, Kak, Ccpur

District Vector Borne Diseases Control Society, Thoubal observed World Malaria Day-2023 under the theme of "Time to deliver zero Malaria: Invest, innovate and implement" at the NHM Hall of CMO office complex, Thoubal on Tuesday.
The observance was attended by Thoubal CMO Dr Y Nokul Singh, District Malaria officer Dr Laitonjam Lalitkumar Singh, District Hospital medical superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar Singh and District AIDS officer Dr Y Bijendra Singh as presidium members.
As part of the observance, ASHAs who performed their duties well were honoured.
District Vector Borne Diseases Control Society, Kakching also observed World Malaria day at the conference hall of Kakching Community Health Centre on Tuesday.
The observance which was held under the theme "Time to deliver zero Malaria; Invest, innovate and implement" was attended by Kakching CMO Dr Thaodem Rajen, District Vector Borne Diseases Control Society DNO and district malaria officer Dr M Gambhini and IDSP, Kakching DNO Dr Khangembam Gopeshwar as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a lecture cum demonstration programme in connection with "Observance of Malaria Week" on Wednesday at HQ Veng in Churachandpur district.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the lecture was organised to spread awareness amongst troops about prevention and control of malaria.
A demonstration on mosquito net impregnation was also conducted to sensitise the troops regarding prevention of malarial disease.
In addition, a detailed awareness session on different types of malaria prevalent in the region along with signs and symptoms and their preventive measures was also conducted.
A total of 117 troops attended the event.
The troops expressed gratitude to the district malaria team for such informative events.
