U-14 cricket: AKSDO, PCC win big

Imphal, April 19 2023:
AKSDO and PCC recorded comprehensive victories in Wednesday's fixtures of the MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
AKSDO thrashed RULE by 179 runs at PTRC Ground, Patsoi.
Asked to bat first, AKSDO posted a competitive total of 258 despite being dismissed in 28.4 overs.
Saikhom Dinesh led the innings with 53 off 28 balls.
Borish (35), Chingaba Elangbam (25), Md Ushmal Ali (16), MC Chan (11), Alex (11) and Avinash (9 not out) were other notable run-getters for AKSDO.
For RULE, Indrakumar was the chief destroyer with four scalps as Sanjit and Sanathoi took two wickets each, and Sanjaikar and Nongpoknganba bagged one each.
Paikhomba Laishram shone with the ball for AKSDO as he made light work of RULE'S batting lineup by scalping six wickets to help his team bowl out the opposition in 19.3 overs for 79.Bidyanan-da Ningthoujam did his bit with two wickets and Avinash Waikhom took one in their side's comprehensive 179-run victory.
Paikhomba Laishram was adjudged the man of the match.
In the day's other match at PCC Ground, PCC pummelled SDC by eight wickets.
Electing to bat, SDC were all out for 129 in 30 overs.
Maibam Napoleon (61) was the lone bright spot in their innings riddled with three run-outs Rarvin Kumar and Lamnganba Nongmaithem picked up two wickets each while Lucky Thokchom and Rojer Laishram took one each for PCC.
In their response, PCC needed just 10 overs to achieve the target courtesy of Lucky Thokchom who slammed an unbeaten 73 off 35 balls, Parvin Kumar (45) and Lamnganba Nongmaithem (4 not out).
Opener Dilshan was dismissed for a duck by Nitara Maverick while Parvin was caught off Lanchenba's bowling.
Parvin Kumar, who took two wickets and scored 45 runs, walked away with the man of the match trophy.
