Many condole demise of video journalist Mungyamba

Different organisations expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of video journalist Leishangthem Mungyamba Chenglei of Tera Sapam Leirak, a former member of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU), who passed away due to illness at RIMS Hospital on Monday.
He was 45 and survived by his wife and two children.
AMWJU organised a condolence meeting presided over by president Wangkhemcha Shamjai at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday in the presence of members of Editors' Guild Manipur, AMWJU and family members.
Floral tributes were also paid to the photo of the deceased and observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect.
The meeting also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and shared pain and grief of the bereaved family.
Late Mungyamba worked as news cameraperson at ISTV Network and as video journalist for ANI and TOM TV.
The meeting also recalled the activities of Mungyamba for the welfare of the union while he was a member.
Meanwhile, in separate releases, Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) Manipur, Manipur State Council Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI), United Committee Manipur (UCM), Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) and Tarahei Youth Development Organisation (TYDO) also condoled the demise of Mungyamba Chenglei.
Along with taking some responsibilities in trade union, he was a member of CPI since 2012 and was a leader of Young Pioneer.
He was also branch secretary of CPI.
Members of CPI took part in the cremation ceremony and paid red salute, said the organisations, adding that a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The releases stated that the demise of the video journalist will leave a huge void in the field of journalism.
