Task forces formed to conserve paddy, state land

The district administration of Bishnupur has constituted three task forces for conservation of agricultural land and government/state land under the provision of Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2014, and Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act, 1960 .
An order issued by DC Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram informed that the District Level Task Force (DLTF) will be headed by the deputy commissioner as chairperson while additional DC and AC to DC will be the nodal officer and convenor respectively.
Senior SP (Bishnupur), CEO-ZP, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), SDOs/BDOs, all executive officers will be members of the task force.
The Sub-Divisional Level Task Force (SDLTF) will be headed by the SDO concerned as chairman & nodal officer while SDC-HQ will be the convenor.
BDO, SDPO, all circle SDCs in the sub-division, executive officers of all municipal councils in the sub-division, and agriculture EO of the circle will be the members.
Meanwhile, the Circle Level Task Force (CLTF) will be headed by circle SDC as chairperson & nodal officer while circle supervisor Kanungo will the convenor.
All officers-in-charge of police stations in the circle, agriculture official nominated by DAO and Panchayat Secretaries concerned will be the members of the task force.
The SDO/BDO/DAO shall be responsible for nominating appropriate persons to be included in the Circle Level Task Force in absence or vacancy of the post men tioned in the committee for their respective jurisdiction.
They shall issue orders for detailing the officials for the respective committees.
The DLTF, SDLTF and CLTF shall conduct field visits in their respective jurisdictions on regular basis, which shall be at least once a week and cause seizure of any machineries/equipment found being used for illegal conversion/reclamation of agricultural land and illegal encroachments on government lands.
The task forces shall also be responsible for enforcement of restoration of agricultural land, which have been illegally reclaimed or the government land to the original condition as per the provisions of the MCPWA, 2014 and MLRL-RA, 1960 .
The task force does not override other provisions of the two Acts.
The task force committees constituted are purely a measure to strengthen the execution and positive efforts conducted under the provisions mentioned under the respective Acts, the order elaborated, while adding that the order shall remain in force until further notification or amendment is made by the district administration.
