CCpur meet opposes land surveys
MLAS Asked to declare their stand within 7 days

CCpur, April 19 2023:
A consultative meeting pertaining to reserved forest, protected forest, wildlife sanctuary and wetland was convened by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) at Young Paite Association hall here on Wednesday.
The meeting was participated by leaders from students and civil society organisation of tribal com munities and chiefs from different villages and areas.
Tribe representatives, student and CSO leaders, chiefs, intellectuals and social workers shared their thoughts on the said issues, resulting in the adoption of a five-point resolution.
Accordingly, the consultative meeting "unanimously agreed that all forms of survey in our lands be opposed and objected at any cost by all groups and organisations as there are procedural lapses, therefore, illegal and unconstitutional" .
It also resolved that peoples' representatives (MLAs) from the district should take a common stand against the ongoing survey/proposed survey on PF/RF/wetland preservation/wildlife sanctuary and the plan to complete cancellation of pattas/jambandis on April 30, 2023 by the government, if they all represent the people, adding, "They are expected to declare their stand within 7 days from this date" .
The three other resolutions adopted by the meeting are "To move our issues legally to the court for justice (ITLF & chiefs), "to support ITLF in any issues", and "the August gathering in the strongest term rejects the office memorandum dated 7th November, 2022 by the principal chief conservator of Forest (PCCF) & HoFF and the same be nullified" .
