Manipur artistes leave for Sylhet

Imphal, April 19 2023:
A team consisting of 32 well-versed artistes of various art forms have left Imphal for Sylhet, Bangladesh today to partake in a 10-day workshop cum production under the supervision of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur.
It is worth noting that the workshop cum production was jointly organised by the Academy for Manipuri Culture & Arts (AMCA), Sylhet, Bangladesh and Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur.
Experts from Manipur in different fields of art will speak and educate the participants on various topics such as Basanta Raas, Puja, Arangpham, Potloi, Moibung etc.

Speaking in this connection, Takhellambam Irabot, spokesperson, Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation Manipur stated that the workshop cum production was organised as a part of the 224th death anniversary observation of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra in association with AMCA.
Notably, a production of Basanta Raas will be showcased on April 23 and an Indo-Bangla 'Tarpan' will be jointly offered to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice during the Khongjom War.
