Elite Cricket : Jotin's 144 powers PTRC to big win as CYCLONE thump RULE

PTRC (Patsoi) and CYCLONE (Thangmeiband) were dominant winners in Wednesday's fixtures of the MNCA Elite Tournament.
PTRC upstaged Al-Ameen by 97 runs at Public Ground Khangabok-3, Cherapur.
Jotin Pheiroijam stole the show as his unbeaten 144 off 105 balls and Ngariyanbam John's 63 helped PTRC pile up a mammoth 295/5 after being put in to bat.
Chingakham Bidash (32) and Loitongbam Shitaljit (22) were other key contributors in their innings.
In the process, PTRC lost two wickets each to Md Nasirshah Alam and Akram Khan while one fell to Nawaz.
PTRC then wrapped up their emphatic win after dismissing Al-Ameen for 198 as fighting efforts by Md Safwan Khan (32), Khulakpam Shahadat Ali (31), Mustaque Mohammed (26) and Muhammed Al Bashid (22) were not enough to surmount the huge target set for them.
Brilliant bowling by Ngariyanbam Johnson and Khaidem Joyraj did the damage to the Al-Ameen batting lineup, claiming three wickets apiece while Chingakham Bidash, Deepak and Jotin Pheiroijam took one each in their win.
Jotin Pheiroijam, who smashed an unbeaten 144 and took one wicket, was adjudged the man of the match.
CYCLONE, meanwhile, outplayed RULE (Malom) by six wickets in their league match played at Oriental College.
Electing to bat, RULE were restricted to 127/9 in their 40 overs.
In the innings, Jay Singh (19), Sanjenbam Ananda (19), Sanjenbam Somokanta (16) and Ayekpam Rakesh (15) were the batters who got into double figures for the Malom side.
CYCLONE'S disciplined bowling attack was led by Longjam Ronald, who scalped three wickets as fellow Loktongbam Santosh snapped two, with Kabrambam Homendro and Maisnam Raju chipping in with one each.
In their response, CYCLONE took 24.1 overs to achieve the target with contributions from Longjam Ronald (42 not out), Kishan Laishram (31), Loktongbam Santosh (25), Bikash (16) and Aditya Prasad (4) .
Longjam Ronald was named the man of the match for his unbeaten 42 and 3 wickets.
