CADA accords warm welcome to Hojai delegates

The delegates from Hojai in Assam who are on a 5-day visit in Manipur to trace their origin and historical roots were accorded a warm welcome today at Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) Head Office, Pureiromba Khongnang Makhong, Konung Mamang.
The 16 member team from Hojai led by Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Hojai District president Ima Brahmacharimayum Padmabati Sharma were welcomed by CADA members led by Hijam Priyokumar, CADA Head Office president.
Ima Yumlembam Mema, Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup (NLANL) president; Ima Ngangkham Prabhabati Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) Secretary General were also present at the occasion, said a press release by CADA.

The women folk from Hojai while speaking at the occasion commended the dedicated and intense efforts of CADA in the fight against drugs and intoxicants in the State.
Expressing concern that youths in Hojai are also falling prey to substance abuse, the women folk expressed the desire of opening a branch of CADA in Hojai to take up effective measures to save these youths.
Addressing the gathering, Hijam Priyokumar extended a warm welcome to the delegates from Hojai and appealed to them to make all forms of possible efforts for the welfare of the Manipuri community.
With regards to the grave issue of substance abuse which is gradually engulfing the indigenous people in the State and beyond thereby posing a threat to their existence, he stressed on the need of making collective efforts to fight against this issue inorder to save the current and upcoming generation from further degradation.
