CYCLONE, PTRC notch up third straight victories in MNCA Elite Tournament

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband and PTRC,Patsoi Part IV registered their third straight victories today in the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
At Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College Ground, CYCLONE rode on Longjam Ronald's allround performance to give his team a 6-wicket win over RULE, Malom.
RULE posted a meagre total of 127 runs for 9 wickets in allotted 40 overs as CYCLONE held sway with Longjam Ronald (3/16 in 6 overs) and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei (2/22 in 8 over) leading the bowling attack.
RULE had a disastrous start and kept losing their wickets in regular intervals before wrapping up the innings at 127 for 9 courtesy little contributions from Jay Singh (19), Sanjembam Somokanta (16), Ayekpam Rakesh (15), Nongthombam Sarojkumar (15) and Sanjenbam Ananda (19).

In the chase, Longjam Ronald added the highest 42 off 58 balls after Loktongbam Santosh (25), Kishan Laishram (31) and Bikash Singh (16) played their parts well, to guide CYCLONE to a winning 128 for 4 within 24.1 overs.
Longjam Ronald eventually fetched the man of the match trophy.
Elsewhere at Public Ground Khangabok Part III, PTRC crushed Al-Ameen by 97 runs riding on Jotin Pheiroijam's unbeaten 144 off 105 deliveries and Ngariyanbam Johnson's half century.
RK Rex departed on golden duck to Md Nasirshah Alam Nongjaimayum in the very first delivery of their innings as PTRC opted to bat first and the team further slumped to 21 for 2 in 6.5 overs with Nasirshah removing Gemson for 9 .
Ng Johnson and Jotin Pheiroijam however recovered the innings from the precarious position and forged a significant 153 run partnership before Ng Johnson was trapped lbw by Nawaz for 63 runs.
His knock included 10 boundaries off 77 deliveries.
Jotin Pheiroijam however clung on to find a good partnership in Chingakham Bidash (32 not out) to complete his 105-ball 144 quickfire by smacking 17 fours and 5 sixes after Akram Khan managed two wickets.
With Jotin and Bidash adding 75 runs for the 6th wicket, PTRC posted a commanding total of 295 runs for 5 (in 40 overs) .
Chasing a daunting total of 296 runs for the win, Al-Ameen kept the scoreboard ticking despite losing wickets in regular intervals before their chase got tighten as Khaidem Joyraj (3/41) and Ngariyanbam Johnson (3/45) shared three wickets late on to finished off their chase at 198 runs in 28.4 overs.
Chingakham Bidash, Deepak and Jotin Pheiroijam also chipped in with a wicket apiece and eventually Jotin who had also shone with his bat received the man of the match trophy.
REYS, Nagamapal will play Blue Hawk, Khurai in the next match tomorrow at Public Ground, Khangapok Cherapur.
