Wushu coach seeks government support to produce players

Huidrom Kangleinganba of Huidrom Makha Leikai under Lamlai assembly constituency, who is serving as Wushu coach in the Indian Army, has assured of producing more promising players from Lamlai and Khundrakpam assembly constituencies if he receives some assistance from the state government.
While addressing a press meet at his residence on Sunday, Kangleinganba, who is 26-year-old son of Huidrom Rajen and Leibakleima, said that there is no coach in Lamlai area, who is certified by the National Institute of Sports (NIS).
Even though he is serving as coach in the Indian Army to support his family, he always wants to train/ coach local youth by remaining in the state.
He also informed that he has completed relevant course for Wushu coach from Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala, after which he joined the Indian Army.
Recently, he came across a report of the state facing issues in producing Wushu players due to absence of qualified coaches and he is taking the opportunity to offer his service if the state government considers his proposal, he added.
