Two-non locals sans valid IIP pass held

Two non-locals were found in possession of invalid inner line permit (ILP) passes during a verification drive carried out by members of Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL) to check whether people renting rooms to outsiders are following the ILP guidelines in Thoubal municipality area, on Sunday.
During the drive carried out by TAL, an apex body of registered organisations of Thoubal municipal council, around 150 non-locals staying at rented quarters in Thoubal Mela ground area were verified, out of which two of them dealing in bakery business were found with invalid ILP passes.
They have been subsequently handed over to district authority.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the drive, TAL secretary AK Jivan informed that the drive was carried out in support of the district administration which is trying to ensure proper implementation of ILP in the district.
Stating that any individual found entertaining non-locals in rented rooms without proper ILP passes are liable to be punished under the law of the land, Jivan appealed to all individuals to check and verify documents of the non-locals and ensure that they hold valid ILP cards.
