Talks held for drug-free Poumai area

Representatives of Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (TNTM) called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his Secretariat office, here, on Sunday and discussed various issues including how to make areas under Poumai Naga jurisdiction free from drugs and poppy plantation.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle in this regard, TNTM president Aasaari Clay-men K informed that the representatives discussed with the CM measures taken up under 'War on Drugs' mission including formulating and supporting policies to make Poumai Naga jurisdiction drug free and prevent poppy plantations in the areas.
The representatives also urged the CM to see to the completion of pending development projects in various Poumai Naga-inhabited villages and districts; welfare schemes of Poumai Naga students; construction of PNDM smart auditorium and a head office of PNTM at Khabung Karong; completion of the Sanyi Dahrii Sports Complex at Khabung Karong, which began construction in 2010-11 during the time when the CM was the sports minister in the then Congress government.
With regard to PNTM's requests, the CM gave a positive response, the PNTM president conveyed.
Meanwhile, a prayer group from Nagaland and Senapati Chathe prayer centre, Kapao prayer centre called on the CM at his official residence on Sunday and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, growth and development in the state.
