Imphal, April 16 2023:
The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has expressed its appreciation to the State Government for its "prompt and decisive action" to address the short fall in Sub-Deputy Collectors/Jr.
MCS, by appointing a further 43 posts from the merit list of the 2016 (2022) MCSCCE exam.
In a statement today, ATSUM said that the lack of administrative staff has led to severe problems in the State, as the last successful recruitment was conducted in 2014."Indeed, the MCSCCE 2016 saga has brought many hardships to the candidates who have appeared and reappeared every stage of the exam i.e.prelims, mains and personality test twice between 2016 and 2022, with some having even been terminated from confirmed service after two and half years of service, for reasons of irregularities not attributed to the candidates but the MPSC and its rule," it said.
"This peculiar and exceptional chain of events has never been observed anywhere else in the country, hence it deserves all special considerations," the tribal student body added.
Henceforth, the ATSUM expressed hope the MPSC would not repeat its mistake.
The ATSUM said it "believes" that the addition of 43 seats will not only help in strengthening the state administration, but provide some justice and relief to the candidates who have appeared the same exam twice over.
Concurrently, the ATSUM appealed to the Government that the officials responsible for the fiasco of MCSCCE 2016, should be brought to justice at the earliest, and provide relief to the innocent.
