7th MNCA Elite Tournament : CHAMP thump BLUE HAWK by 54 runs

CHAMP-Khagempalli defended their competitive total of 215 runs by bowling out BLUE HAWK-Khurai Lamlong for 161 runs to seal a 54 run victory in their opening match at the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Toumament.
CHAMP won the toss at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium and elected to bat first and racked up 215 runs for 7 wickets courtesy Narsingh Yadav's half century (58) and Md Sultan Karim (42).It was a solid start for the team as Narsingh Yadav and Samir forged a 101-run first wicket partnership before Samir (40) holed out to Amom Guniram off Wakamba Samson's last delivery of the 24th over.
Narsingh Yadav tried to stay on but was bowled out for 58 runs (off 86 deliveries) by Wakambam Samson for the second wicket as the scoreboard read 124 in the 28th minute.
The run rate dropped after his dismissal and wicket keeps falling in regular intervals despite Md Sultan quickfire 42 off 29 deliveries before the innings ended at 215 for 7.Mutum Pritam also bagged two wickets for 24 runs in this innings as Semson Soibam, Samsung Heisnam and Jitendra Bishan Thakur shared a wicket each.
In reply, Mintu Chandra starred with a slow but commendable 94-ball 66 but his effort went in vain as Sultan Karim spun web around BLUE HAWK batters on the way to his three wicket haul (3/21) to lead the bowling attack.
Moirangthem Thomas (2/14) and Nitesh Sedai (2/11) also combined well to keep BLUE HAWK under pressure and helped the chase collapse at 161 runs.
Md Sultan Karim who produced an allround performance (42 runs off 29 balls, 3 wickets for 21 runs in 5.2 overs) rightfully bagged the man of the match trophy.
Model Club-Chingamakha will play CRAU-Khamnam Bazar in the next match tomorrow.
