First National Lok Adalat of 2023 held widely

The first National Lok Adalat for this year was held today at various places across the State organised by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in association with the High Court Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authorities as per the calendar of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
National Lok Adalat for Imphal East and West district was jointly organized by MASLSA in association with Imphal East & Imphal West District Legal Services Authorities at Lamphel Court Complex today, said a press release by Member Secretary, MASLSA.
National Lok Adalat was also held at Bishnupur, Thoubal, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, Chandel, Tamenglong and Jiribam districts and in the High Court of Manipur.
The High Court Legal Services Committee organized National Lok Adalat at High Court of Manipur complex in which one Bench comprising of Gaiphulshillu Golmei, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur as Chairperson; K Brajakumar Sharma, Joint Director Manipur Judicial Academy and Yumkham Rother, Registrar (Judl.), High Court of Manipur as members.
For Manipur, a total of 430 cases which included both pre-litigation and pending Court cases on bank recovery matters, BSNL bill matters, matrimonial cases, criminal compoundable cases, civil cases, Motor Accident Claims cases, N.I.Act cases etc.
were taken up today and out of which 338 cases including 21 cases pending in the Courts have been settled.
The total settled amount in today's National Lok Adalat is Rs 3,23,46,030/- (Rupees three crore twenty-three lakh forty-six thousand and thirty) only.
The rate of settlement in today's National Lok Adalat stood at 78.60 % as compared to 66.85% recorded in the last National Lok Adalat held in November 2022 .
